Thanks for that information, Josh! I can think of so many different use-cases this applies to.

For example, a few of our clients are using their Key Survey accounts to launch web forms for their employees submit "on the road" from a standard Blackberry device. Knowing the exact device makes it easy to optimize the surveys and forms, and we even have the Blackberry Numeric Input plugin for this specific purpose - http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Help....

For others though, it can be difficult or impossible to guess which mobile devices and web browsers their respondents may be using, and many times you may have to choose between a super awesome design and a design which is compatible across multiple browsers or end-user environments.

Well fear not, good citizens! Here are some things that you can keep in mind to optimize your surveys and forms for any mobile device!

    * Mobile devices typically have 3.5"-4.3" screens, so you may want to make your survey or form more compact:

    - Try using the "across" layout for Pick One questions (http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Help....
    - Use the feature with Check All That Apply questions (http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Help....
    - Use Single Line Text fields for "comment" type questions, and then use the Comment Box plugin to mak...(http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Plug...)
    - If you know CSS, you can edit the survey's style sheet and set the survey width at 480px to correspo...(http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Font...)
    - Also for Web Developer Gurus, if your respondents may be using PCs *and* mobile devices, you may wan (http://www.keysurvey.com/WebHelp/Help.... For non-web-developer-gurus, WorldAPP can do this as a professional service. Please see your account manager for a quote!

    * While many mobile devices can connect to WiFi which gives them decent connection speeds, a lot of people are still connecting through cell towers (think dial-up speeds.) Therefore, the more simple your design is, the better.
    - In the theme library, look at "Two color Layouts"
    - On the custom layout page, look at "HTML Buttons"
    - Consider limiting or eliminating the use of images or embedded media.

These are the things that I can think of off the top of my head. If anyone else has some suggestions on optimizing your survey for the Mobile Web Movement, please share them here!

    Best regards,

    Kimberli
